Rational Clean Services Terms and Conditions
Hi, this is James, owner of Rational Clean. Thanks for considering Rational Clean. We appreciate the fact that you like to use our service that is instilled with happiness. We also want to make sure you have a joyful experience while you’re exploring, evaluating, and booking our services, whether you’re on the phone with Rational Clean customer service, on our website, or during an in-home estimate session.
As with any shopping experience, there are terms and conditions that apply to bookings at Rational Clean. I’ll be as brief as my wife will allow. The main thing to remember is that by booking a service at Rational Clean, you agree to the terms set forth below.
PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. BY USING AND PURCHASING ANY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FROM RATIONAL CLEAN, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT, AS MAY BE AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME BY RATIONAL CLEAN.

The following terms and conditions of this Agreement, as amended from time to time in accordance with this Agreement (the “Terms”) is a legal agreement between you and Rational Clean Incorporated. (referred to as “Rational Clean,” “our,” or “we”), which governs your use and purchase, if any, of Rational Clean’s products and services, including without limitation, the website and residential cleaning services. This Agreement applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Services of Rational Clean (referred to as “Client,” “you,” or “your”).
Payments

We accept payment by email transfer or credit card.

For the initial cleaning or any one-time cleaning, we ask for a non-refundable retainer of $100 to reserve the spot for you. Your cleaning session is not officially booked until the retainer is received. The remaining payment is due after the cleaning is complete.

For recurring cleanings after the initial clean, the payment is due after the cleaning is complete. You will receive an invoice via email.
Cleaning Time
Your cleaning session will take the estimated hours as stated in the quote provided to you. The time required to clean your home will fluctuate from visit to visit. You are paying for the scope of work and results you desire, not for a set amount of time.
Cleaning Supplies
We will bring all the equipment and products needed to thoroughly clean your home, except for the toilet brush. Our technicians are trained to use tools and products that are carefully selected by us to complete the cleaning tasks safely and effectively. We typically do not use products or tools provided by our clients.
We will only consider using your products if you have allergy concerns. Note that Rational Clean is not responsible for any damages associated with those products. Our cleaning crew reserves the right to refuse using any products that are (or believed) to be toxic.
Cleaning Day Preparation
The cleaning fee is based on the cleaners focusing all their time on the priorities discussed with you. We ask that you take a few minutes to tidy up to allow the cleaners easy access to the areas/surfaces to be cleaned (floors, countertops, tabletops, etc.). If you’d like our cleaners to do these tasks for you, we can put them into your cleaning plan with additional time planned.
Cleaners Arrival Window
We schedule our cleanings in an order that requires the least amount of travel to avoid transportation fees. There are many unforeseeable circumstances in our business, such as traffic, weather, and mechanical problems. When you book the cleaning sessions, we will provide you with a range of our cleaners' arrival times. Generally, our arrival window ranges over an hour. If we run behind schedule, we will call you or text you. If you require a specific cleaning time, we will make every effort to accommodate your request. However, Rational Clean does not guarantee a particular arrival time.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
We reserve a particular time for your cleaning session and require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule the booked service. There will be a $50 late-change fee if the cancellation or rescheduling is within 48 hours of the beginning of your booked service session. If the cancellation or rescheduling occurs after the cleaning has started, full payment as listed in the quote is required for this session.
Lockouts
Your home shall be accessible for our cleaning crew at the scheduled cleaning time. If the cleaning crew is locked out of your home, we will make every effort to contact you to arrange for entry into the property. To avoid the lockout fees, please provide us with a code to gain entry to your home.

If we cannot reach you within 20 minutes of the arrival of the cleaning crew, Rational Clean will cancel or reschedule the cleaning session. The Cancellation and Rescheduling policy will apply.

If the cleaning crew obtains access to your home after contacting you, we will complete the planned cleaning session with an additional service delay fee of $30 per hour per cleaner for the time spent gaining access to your property. This fee is necessary to compensate the cleaners for the additional time.
Alarm
If your home is equipped with a security system, please ensure that it is in the off position or call our office with the code and proper directions for use. If the code changes, please let us know to avoid any lockout charges.
The Key
Rational Clean does not keep the key to your property. If it requires a key to access the service location, Rational Clean will provide you with a coded key box at a charge of $30. We ask you to put the key in the key box for our cleaning crew to access on the cleaning day. The cleaning crew will lock the door and put the key back in the key box once the cleaning is complete. Note that the key box is only to be used temporarily on cleaning days. For your safety, we do not recommend leaving it outside permanently. Rational Clean is not liable for any damages or theft of your property.
Parking
The client is responsible for ensuring that free parking is readily available for our cleaners upon arrival at the client’s residence and for the entire duration of the services being provided. Parking must be available on the property or directly adjacent to the property. In the event that free parking is not available, the client is responsible for the parking fees incurred by the cleaning crew. The client must be available to pay for the parking fees for the cleaners upon arrival. In the event that parking is not made available by the client, the appointment will be considered a lockout and the service will be cancelled. Our Cancellation and Rescheduling policy will apply.
Refund Policy
Payments for our services are not refundable. We have built our business by providing our clients with the best possible service. However, we realize that we are human, and things can get missed occasionally. If this happens, please email or call us within 24 hours after the cleaning, and we will fix the errors at no charge.
Pets
We will gladly work around pets but require their indoor activities to be limited for cleaning efficiency and safety. If your pet becomes anxious or presents a safety concern, Rational Clean reserves the right to remove its employees from your home.
Our cleaners are instructed not to enter a house if they believe an animal is a threat, or a pet may behave differently if the family member is not present. If the removal of our cleaning crew is due to aggressive pets, our Cancellation and Rescheduling policy will apply.
Items We Don't Clean
The scope of Rational Clean's service excludes the following items:

Mold removal

Animal/human body fluids, blood, feces, vomit, urine or excretions

Cat litter boxes

Birdcages
-
Hoarding homes
Unreachable Areas & Heavy Items
For safety and liability reasons, our cleaners cannot climb higher than a step stool or work outdoor. Our cleaners don’t move any objects over 30 pounds. If you would like our cleaning crew to clean behind/under heavy objects, please move them before the cleaning session.
Right to Refuse Service
Rational Clean reserves the right to deny or terminate the service because of safety concerns, inappropriate or uncomfortable situations, weapons on-premises, aggressive animals, severe clutter, extremely unsanitary condition, and disconnected utilities.
If our cleaners refuse service under the above circumstances or feel unsafe/threatened/disrespected, our Cancellation and Rescheduling policy will apply.
Non-Solicitation
As our Client, we ask that you agree not to solicit for hire any of our cleaners to work directly for you. Our professional cleaners are background checked, their references verified & have completed comprehensive cleaning training. We invest significant time, resources, and money in each cleaner before we allow them to enter your home.

The cleaners who work as independent contractors are not covered under our insurance. Rational Clean does not supervise their services in any aspects, such as products, tools, safety, quality of work, and ethics. This will put the health and safety of your family at risk. Rational Clean is not liable for any damages, theft or unethical issues associated with directly hiring our previous or current employees.
Change of Service Scope
We estimate the service fees based on your needs and home condition. If the home condition changes dramatically (e.g., remodel, change of address, number of people living in the home, a significant addition of furniture, etc.) or we discover hidden conditions that require significantly more cleaning time, Rational Clean will contact you to discuss price or service revisions from the original quote.
